If you’ve read my post Frugal Shopping: Coupons, Specials & Rewards, you’ll know that I’m a big fan of store rewards, vouchers and coupons. Yes, every bit of savings on our groceries counts!

One of the rewards programmes I use is the Woolworths WRewards. I use my card whenever I shop at one of the Woolworths stores although, I must admit, that’s not very often. I’ve also subscribed to receive their newsletter and I’ve downloaded the Woolworths app on my smart phone.

That’s how I receive occasional vouchers and discounts based on the items that I sometimes buy at Woolies. These come in really handy when those items are not on ‘special’ in stores nationwide but I can still use my personalised discount voucher in any Woolworths store.

It’s also via the Woolworths newsletter that I heard about the Woolworths Surprise Saturdays from 21 October to 30 December 2017 for their WRewards members. I was certainly intrigued so I had a closer read to see what it’s all about.

Each Saturday, from now until 30 December 2017, there will be a ‘surprise’ for WRewards members via the Woolwoths app on your smart phone.

To start with, you have to be a WRewards member so if you haven’t signed up yet, head on to this page to apply or visit your nearest Woolworths store to fill in your application and get your WRewards card. It’s easy, quick and free.

As a WRewards member, download the Woolworths app on your smart phone, register with a valid email address and your WRewards card number and wait for your Surprise Saturdays voucher to appear in your account under ‘WRewards’ and then ‘Vouchers’. It’s that easy! The vouchers are redeemable on Saturdays at Woolies stores nationwide.

I don’t know what kind of savings and specials are in store for us on Surprise Saturdays but I am definitely going to be checking in every Saturday! There might just be a voucher for an item or two that I would really like to buy, or perhaps even something Christmas-y, which could end up being a real treat, so I’m really looking forward to this. Will you be checking in on Saturdays as well?
