Thanks so much for having me co-host this week Hayley 🙂

And yes, you’re right about controlling the ingredients. I try and do that as much as I can with baked goodies for example bread, muffins, etc as I use GMO free stone ground flour.

I always automatically assume it would be cheaper to make or do something yourself than to buy it. But sometimes that means I end up failing, doing it over, or even buying it in the store after all.

Definitely not cheaper.

Though not so much with food. Over here, I can’t help but throw ethics into the equation. I.E. How can they sell it so cheap? Sometimes it’s because materials are bought in bulk, but sometimes it’s because they’re paying laborers next to nothing.

Things I will definitely never make at home – laundry detergent.

Things I make at home sometimes but don’t think I really save money on – bread.

Things I DIY successfully and frugally – honestly can’t think of any off the top of my head at the mo, ha.

I recently got chickens and I suspect they actually won’t save me money in the long run, but I do love having them as pets!

We often learn new skills by making things at home. The ones we enjoy the most are the ones we can all chip in as a family – always such great memories. 🙂
